Diane, Jason and Oscar - Resort Fashions 2011

The 2011 Resort collections are being revealed and for me, I am very much enjoying it.  These are the fashions that fit my lifestyle.  Casual, feminine, beautiful and very flattering.  If only I had a budget that would support such dreams!  I’ve highlighted three designers that recently shared their creations and chose a few of my favorite pieces.  To see each of the designer’s entire collection, simply click on their name and you will be taken directly to Style.com’s slideshow.  Enjoy!

Diane von Furstenberg

Doing a full 180 degree about face from that of her fall 2010 line, Ms. Furstenberg’s collection was full of very feminine fashions, black and white stripes, polka dots and prints, as well as a trench that would transition easily to being worn in the city.

Jason Wu

Jason Wu’s 2011 Resort collection took place at the St. Regis hotel and gravitated toward a French theme, even presenting each guest with macaroons, as a way of stating that a resort collection is similar to dessert – lovely, fun and delicious.

Oscar de la Renta

Oscar de la Renta’s 2011 Resort collection, all 55 pieces, were stunning – a bit of a nautical theme, very ladylike (Charlotte York would love this collection), and full of glamour.  A few of the ladies I follow on Twitter – Habitually Chic’s Heather Clawson and FashionWeekNYC were tweeting live, and it was a hoot to read their reactions.  What an invitation to possess! Above all, his evening designs will most definitely be showing up at upcoming award show and benefits as they are flattering, classic and incorporate some gorgeous colors and embellishments.

  1. hi sl,
    thank you for stopping by.
    I love your fashion report.
To me, the big news, is belts!!
    Belts everywhere. O.D.La Renta.
Fortunately, I have a laundry basket full of all kinds of fabulous belts... from when I was a fashion buyer.
And I think a combination of very expensive belts and less expensive belts is the way to go.
And to me, belts polish and complete any outfit.
    Fabby post : )
