Taylor Swift – Vogue US – February 2012

Captured in bohemian-chic styles, Mario Testino reveals a young, ever evolving style aficionado Taylor Swift.  On the cover of Anna Wintour’s Vogue February 2012 issue, her hypnotic blue eyes sell the the decision of celebrities as cover worthy.  Yes, it does become an expected frustration when month after month not a single fashion model appears on the the most coveted cover in the fashion industry (Hello, Karlie Kloss? Still waiting to step out of the pages and onto the cover), but Wintour understands what sells, and if she wishes to broaden her reach, she knows the fashion conscious will still pick up the issues month after month, but it is those who are not so fashion minded that she seeks to convert.

Clad in Rodarte for many of the images, have a look at the entire collection of images below and read Jonathan Van Meter’s interview with Taylor Swift here.

  1. I bought the last issue because it had Meryl Streep, and I will probably get this one because of Taylor Swift. I'm afraid I'm one of those contributing to the lack of fashion models on the cover. I do think the decision to have Meryl Streep on the cover was a good one though.

  4. Elizabeth M - I couldn't agree with you more about Meryl. What is nice about not having fashion models is that who she does choose (in the case of Meryl) can often be women that are inspiring. And that is always a good choice.
