Style Inspiration

Dressing for the work day is becoming more and more creative and unique to a woman’s signature style. While in certain careers there are very strict guidelines, in others, it really is up to the woman. Whether it was on the streets of Milan during fashion week or elsewhere on the streets of the world, the women in today’s Style Inspiration know how to pull together an outfit.

  4. Always nice to find a blog with good fashion examples. It seems people are really getting a lot more into their own looks and styles. I’ve seen this even outside the workplace, such as social events and gatherings. People are more willing to step out of the “norm” by finding something they really like on their own.

Working like magic, the blazer, unlike any other item in your closet can quickly dress up a casual look.  Wear black, khaki, color or leather, and you are certain to step your style up a notch. Along with a blazer, introduce an over-sized clutch to your accessory shelves, some playful bangles (search for unique, yet affordable ones at your local consignment store, secondhand store or yard sales) and when stepping outside a pair of over-sized sunnies.

Thursday, I do believe, is one of my favorite days here on the blog because it means I am able to dream right along with you – which accessories to add to my closet, which new hairstyles to try for the upcoming weekend activities and learn new ideas on how to pair an assortment of separates that I would have initially thought to wear together. Here’s to more style inspiration . . .

Details, details, details. Being a lover of simplicity, I strongly adhere to a classic foundational wardrobe, but I thoroughly believe that the pop and signature style is revealed in the details that are introduced to it.  Whether it be the choice of heels, draped necklace, handbag, scarf or – one of the most important accessories – hairstyle, it is what we choose and how we wear it that can speak volumes. Enjoy perusing through this week’s gathering of photos (my favorite hairstyle is the second from the last) and always remember to give extra attention to the details.

One of the basic elements to a well stocked wardrobe is a jacket or blazer.  Whether it be black, white, beige or anything in between, it will add an element of style elevating a simple t-shirt and jeans to more than appropriate for the errands, lunch, or casual Fridays. But of course, I couldn’t just include photos of jackets, so you will also find much more. Happy window shopping!
