Winter is a perfect time of year to wear black, and wearing blue works year round. Oh, who am I kidding? Either can, and should, be worn year-round as it all depends upon the person wearing the clothes, the circumstance and what makes you feel your best.
And after watching Sunday night’s Golden Globes with Lady Gaga‘s French blue Valentino gown, Lupita Nyong’o‘s Calvin Klein cobalt blue gown, Julia Roberts’ black one-shoulder, neutral-paired shimmering pantsuit by Stella McCartney (LOVED this look), Charlize Theron in a stunning Dior Haute Couture piece and I cannot neglect to mention Mahershala Ali’s custom Etro tux (I am looking forward to watching Green Room soon!), both colors are universally flattering choices for either the entire ensemble, a silhouette or an accent, for either men or women, pants or gowns, and worn in so many different shades and styles.
Since most of us won’t be dressing to walk down an award show’s red carpet, it is important to remember that the colors are just as wonderful worn in our day-to-day lives as the four images shared below here in today’s Style Inspiration post reveal.
For me, having wardrobe essentials in both hues is always a good idea: from blazers, dresses, pants, skirts, sweaters and camisoles, oh and I cannot forget coats, shoes, scarves, denim, I think you get the idea. Indispensable. 🙂
