Signature taste that can both be timeless and unique to the inhabitant of the sanctuary is not an easy feat. In order to curate a signature look including prints, along with sprinkles of color here and there, expertise of which prints would work well, which textures would work well and which colors are just enough without being overwhelming must be tended to. Enter interior decorator Kristen Panitch. With her company dedicated and described as designing homes that are “understated. inventive. timeless”, such expertise is on display in this 1950s Los Angeles Pacific Palisades home featured in House Beautiful.
The inclusion of wallpaper, brilliant bold color colors that do not overwhelm as well as print upholstery dazzle the eye, but somehow do not feel heavy or excessive (discover Panitch’s approach to making it all work here). The neutral living room jute rug, the dark hardwood floors and the light, naturally simple kitchen offer the balance of a relaxing sanctuary for the owners of the home to unwind and rejuvenate.
Below are a few of my favorite rooms in the home, but be sure to tour the entire space here.
