Petit Plaisir: No. 23 – Jumpsuits

A few weeks ago I shared on the weekly This & That a handful of jumpsuits I had discovered from Tart. Fast forward a couple of weeks and I am in love with my first, and certainly not my last, seventies inspired summer one-piece must-have item.

As someone who is always looking for simple, stylish and comfortable clothes, this whole jumpsuit trend made the cut.

Whether choosing strapless, halter, sans sleeves or  with, jumpsuits are certainly an option to consider for leisure, elegance and ease. Made out of modal jersey or silk-crepe, they provide a waist, but then magically drape your silhouette in every way you might have hoped. While black or any solid will always be a slimming option, so long as you choose a complementary size, hem the legs as necessary, this one decision option will quickly become a versatile summer style choice. Love prints? Go for it! They provide beautiful camouflage and let your décolletage and beautiful smile garner the attention. Wear with flat sandals or heels with a tapered leg, accessorize with a statement necklace, signature cuff or beautiful large earrings. Needless to say, when I have one less decision to make any time I go to my closet, I am a very happy girl.

Here are a few other styles and colors of jumpsuits you might want to take a look at:

  1. Completely agree with this. Done right, a jumpsuit is a God send! I bought several jersey jumpsuits and wear them all the time!! Must hem a few though that I haven’t been able to wear yet! Reading this is a sign that I need to get moving on that!!!!

  2. It is great that this works for you! The maxis and jumpers are just too much of one fabric for me though. I can’t see myself ever wearing either confidently.

  3. Like the commenter above I find jumpsuits and maxis are just too much for my height especially as I am short waisted. I will have to admire both looks from afar.
