Style Inspiration: Summer Time

Jun 21, 2016

summertime

Yesterday was the first official day of summer, and oh wasn’t it sweet? With the longest day of the year, ideal temperatures in the high 70s and a flexible schedule to wiggle and tweak to my content, I don’t remember a better start to the summer season. And with the change of seasons, comes a change of attire: cooler, looser, yet still chic as each of today’s Style Inspiration images demonstrates. Beginning with the casual approach above with Rag & Bone’s ‘Noa’ espadrille slip-on, to the delicious button up silk and linen clothing below, I don’t know about you, but summer looks absolutely fabulous. 1. I really like cropped pants in summer. Capris or longer–like just above the ankle. Somehow showing a little ankle makes long pants look cooler and more summery.
Did you notice in the last shot how the shape of the bag is echoed in the shape of her earrings? Brilliant detail.

  2. Gorgeous images. Love the espadrilles but really expensive (compared to in Spain where they are probably made 🙁
LOVE the white cropped trousers and sleeveless duster coat/waistcoat; gorgeous!

  3. After months of cashmere and jeans it’s so much fun to be back in summer clothes again. For day to day running around, ferrying children and working from home nothing can beat the simplicity of shorts and a t shirt. The shops here in SW France are full of boho chic this summer.

  4. Shannon, thank you for another style post!! I looked through your older summer posts and was thrilled to see how many of them I have imitated. I sent to see Finding Dori in a pencil skirt with a sleeves silk blouse and the new Prada sandals and felt like a million dollars. Thank you for influence in my life!

  5. I have the original Japanese bag from the 40s-50s. Got it for $2 at a thrift store a few years ago and I use it all summer. People either love it or hate it but it definitely gets attention!
