Do Dana Lyon and director and film producer Nancy Meyers know each other? I ask because, once you see the aesthetics that interior designer Dana Lyon creates, you will feel the comfort, the luxuriousness, the calm simplicity that I am always drawn to when I sit down to enjoy a Nancy Meyers’ film (Something’s Gotta Give, It’s Complicated, The Holiday, etc.).
Upon finding this home decorated by Lyon in a 2009 issue of House Beautiful, I discovered that not only did Dana major in design and fine arts in college, but following her college experience, she went on to graduate from Le Cordon Bleu Culinary School in Paris, France. Okay, now I see
why we are kindred spirits, I mean why she and Nancy Meyers may be kindred spirits.
Her design company The Refined Group, which is based in Arizona but works on projects around the country, is described as “design for living well”, and living well is exactly what one will do if they had such spaces to dwell in. From the above chaise lounge with the tranquil vantage point, to the exposed beams in the kitchen with two farm house sinks (she reads my mind!) and of course the soaking tub to let the cares and worries of the day wash away. Enjoy a bit of dreaming and designing (and saving up if you love her talents as much as I do).
