~How To: Simplify

Jen Tilley is the food blogger behind the beautiful and helpful blog How to: Simplify where she shares tips, recipes and tricks to simplify life in the kitchen. It was her Nutella pumpkin muffins that first caught my eye, and then I began to peruse her sight and immediate became a follower. Doesn’t her salmon above look delicious? Or how about her chocolate chip cookies (click here)? While also working with Mom it Forward, Tilley is the editor, cook and talent behind everything you find on How to: Simplify. Enjoy tempting your appetite!

~The Pioneer Woman Cooks: A Year of Holidays: 140 Step-by-Step Recipes for Simple, Scrumptious Celebrations

Ree Drummond’s latest cookbook debuted last  month as the #1 New York Times best-seller, and continues to be in the top five. As Food Network personality and successful food blogger, her new book may be something  you’d want to check out for the upcoming holiday soirees.

~Anthony Strong – Stepping Out

Always keeping my ears tuned for  jazz music to add to my playlists, over the weekend I heard an interview of Anthony Strong. Earlier this year, he released his latest album Stepping Out, and I have to say I enjoy his talents. Raised in England, the UK Metro paper upon reviewing Stepping Out tapped him as a “major new talent” in which he covers Sinatra’s “Luck be a Lady” as well as offers his own songs. Preview all of the songs on the album here and have a listen to the title track below.

~DVF faux wrap black dress

If you are on the hunt for a classic, chic, yet simple black dress, DVF’s faux-wrap dress was just reduced 50% at The Outnet and is still available in all sizes. I couldn’t recommend a better staple at a reasonable price to pick up for the upcoming holiday season as well as for any necessary occasion throughout the year.

~Farm Sanctuary – Adopt-a-Turkey

If you are an animal lover like myself, perhaps you are wanting to look out for the big birds this holiday season rather than dive in. Since 1986, Farm Sanctuary has offered an opportunity for sponsors to adopt-a-turkey which allows you to support the sanctuary which turkeys would be able to call home along with other farm animals.

~Thanksgiving Live – Food Network

For the third year in a row, the Food Network is hosting their special live broadcast Thanksgiving Live this upcoming Saturday at noon eastern time. This year Ina Garten – aka the Barefoot Contessa – joins the all-star cast with Giada de Laurentiis, Bobby Flay, Ree Drummond, Alton Brown and others. While I always enjoy the recipes they share, I must say, it is their interactions with each other that I enjoy the most. It is an entertaining and helpful two hours that certainly will help get you in the mood for the upcoming holiday season.
