Where Meryl Streep Called Home

Aug 29, 2018

Food for thought: While Meryl Streep was filming Julie & Julia, she and her husband owned this exquisite New York City penthouse. Purchased in 2006, the same year The Devil Wears Prada was released, Meryl and her husband Donald Gummer have put on the market their Tribeca home for $25 million.

With nearly 4000 square feet and a wood burning fireplace, have a look at the amount of natural light that streams into the master bedroom, as well as the large clawfoot-inspired soaking tub. What immediately caught my eye was the butcher block island in the kitchen. Mixing the rustic with the modern in this gathering space offers a warmth that is often lost with renovated spaces. Complete with a terrace, be sure to tour the entire space here as the walk-in closet is tremendous in size.

I am sure Streep and her husband have other homes, but knowing when you arrived in the city that you had such a place to call your sanctuary is not a bad way to find rejuventation. Enjoy the tour!

  1. You’re paying not only for the 4,000 square feet. You’re paying mostly for the view, the exclusivity, the penthouse, the isolation from others in the building
